Now that I've talked about that for longer than I should...I'm going to get into my week!
I keep talking about how busy I am, and I am (busier at least)..but I also prioritize. And by that I mean, I make sure I can watch Netflix at least once a day. If I don't get to in the mornings, at night I always get super excited like, "I'm going to watch a show tonight!" I'm such an adult. Anyways, I am flying through Parenthood episodes lately. Last Sunday, I think I watched like 8 episodes. (I actually wasn't keeping track of how many, but it felt like a lot.) And I kept saying, "I love today" haha. My sister just got this tank top, and now I'm temped to buy it too.
(*update: she has the t-shirt, but same idea.) Except for the fact that I remember the song that it's making fun of, and my 7th grade self is still grossed out..
I also started watching The Affair again (not Netflix, Showtime) and it's so good. Anyone else watch it?? I love that it's the same story, but told by like 4 different points of view. I wonder if that's how real life is? Like we all remember a story or a day totally different than the other person does in their mind.
Anyways. Not sure how to break into this topic, but... I finished our Christmas cards this week and they are currently on their way to my mailbox! It was something I wanted to knock out really early this year (I skipped last year because we moved/were busy) because I don't want to think about it in December. Next up is figuring out something easy for a Christmas gift. I love Christmas, but kind of hate it. Present giving is stressful. I'm thinking the same thing for everyone this year. I will probably share the card I decided on when it gets closer and is more timing appropriate, haha, but here is one that I was playing around with that I REALLY wanted to do..
..but didn't because it was like 3x what I was looking to spend on cards. (I used shutterfly btw.) I just thought the Alamo and the "ya'll" part was so funny! If we get to continue living in the "South" then I might do something similar next year. And for the record, I have never said the word "ya'll. (At least not out loud lol.)
But skipping back to fall, I have "fall"en victim to the pumpkin trend!!!! I give in! I partly blame Johns Mom though, haha. When they were here, her and I went to Trader Joe's, and I ended up buying pumpkin poptarts. If there's anything I miss about eating as a kid, it's Reeses cereal and poptarts. Then she got like 5 other pumpkin flavored items, and she left them here!!!!! So now they're all up to me to eat! I also bought a can of pumpkin to bake something (don't know what yet, thinking one of these). And then...I got an "autumn wreath" candle. AND then...a bag of mini kit-kats, which will probably be gone by the end of the day at the rate I'm eating them at.
I tried so hard to fight fall, but it won. Oh well. Also just ate almost an entire sleeve of club crackers while I wrote this post. So clearly, healthy eating was a priority this week. Not.
And that's about all I've got, have a good weekend!
xo.
I want to watch The Affair! because I think we all do have different memories of what happened at a place or event and stuff. That sounds pretty good, and plus we need a new show to watch and that sounds perfect. I bet you and John would like Unbreakable Kimmy Shmidt. It's pretty funny and keeps us entertained! That card is cute!! If you ever need a design for cheaper than shutterfly let me know because design is my life haha I've done like a million wedding invites lately. I wish I liked pumpkin but I just don't! I bet Jason would love those pumpkin pop tarts, though. k happy Friday!!

oh shoot ps I really like suave dry shampoo (in the blonde/gold colored bottle) I really like it! I'm not a huge fan of the smell, but it isn't terrible and it does a good job!
DeleteI was just waiting for your comment Miss Best Hair ever! I've heard the suave is good too, but I mostly judge products on smell...soo..we'll see. I'm going to make it my mission to try a bunch. And okay, the show The Affair is good! I think at least! John hasn't watched it, but I always tell him that I think he would like it. It's a little mystery. But, obviously about an affair..(and a little nakedness. not too much). And okay, I should have asked you about cards!! DUH. You do everything! I didn't spend a ton...but I also didn't get to buy as many as I would have liked, if you get what I mean. Next year girl ;)
DeleteI want those pumpkin pop tarts, dang it!!! Also BATISTE! Batiste dry shampoo is my best friend. I tried washing every other day in college because my friend was like "TRESEMME DRY SHAMPOO IS THE BEST" but it was awful. I've heard people say good things about it now so maybe it's changed...it's been years now.
ReplyDeleteANYWAY then I randomly saw Not Your Mother's at the grocery store and just bought it on a whim a few months ago and it worked, so I started doing every other day. I went to buy more at Ulta once and they were out and the lady recommended Batiste and now I go two days without washing my hair. So anyway, I love it. I've also heard people really like Dove dry shampoo but I haven't tried it. Sorry I rambled hahaha.
No, THANK YOU for the ramble. I need to know! I will look for this Batiste one because a few people have said it now. Where do you buy it??? Target? Ulta??
DeleteI only wash my hair once or twice a week...my goal is always one but sometimes it's not possible so dry shampoo is my jam! I'm not a huge fan of the suave dry shampoo and I hate the not your mothers brand, I paid $20 for a sample size of the dry bar brand and that was the biggest waste ever. I have one brand I like in a white can H something...lol but my new favorite is the Pantene pro v dry shampoo...it works so well and smells amazing!! That Christmas card is so stinking cute but I wouldn't want to pay an arm and a leg for it either lol.
ReplyDeleteIf I washed my hair once a week, I would look like a homeless person lol. Mine gets too oily. I've been washing it everyday forever, and I've heard that you're hair can like "learn" to produce less oil if you stop washing it as much, so I'm kind of hoping it works. It would be sweet to go like every third day. I will look for the H brand lol ;) I will probably just end up trying a million things, but I am on a mission!
DeleteI have never used dry shampoo! I do wash my hair every other day though, but in the mornings. My hair is too thin to wash it at night. Thin, but I have lots of it...weird, idk. I imagine I would like it if it helped "flat" second day hair. I am a bare minimum "beauty" routine person though so I am never any help. Me needed to do my make up is wearing mascara haha. I have been enjoying all of the current fall shows right now so I haven't really binge watched much. I did binge watch the whole first season of iZombie recently to be able to watch season two that just started! The potential Christmas card is cute! I don't say y'all that much, especially for southern standards! I used to never say it growing up (I have always lived in the south), but I work with some people with some really serious southern accents so it gets picked up more!
ReplyDeleteThin hair is my dream. I bet you can blow dry it so fast too! And for real, I'm pretty bare minimum too. I wore eyeshadow last night and I felt so glamorous haha. Or like a clown, I don't know. I've never heard of iZombie?! Is it about zombies lol? (dumb question?)
DeleteThe grass is always greener about hair! I have a lot of hair so it takes a long time to dry still. Haha, yes, it is about zombies! Danny is the one that made me binge watch it because he watched season 1 last year. Season 1 is on Netflix and season 2 is on Hulu. It's not like the Walking Dead (which I also watch) the main character is a functioning zombie as long as she eats brains and she takes on characteristics of the people's brains she eats. She is a medical examiner and helps solve their murders. Sounds silly, but I like most CW shows.
DeleteI would definitely recommend Batiste dry shampoo! I'm not sure I should admit this but I only wash my hair about once a week. I use the one with a tint of blonde and not only does it take away the grease, but it makes my darker roots look fresher between colorings. I've also heard good things about the Living Proof dry shampoo but haven't tried it myself.
ReplyDeleteI think that's what I'm going to look for today because it sounds like the winner! I would totally admit it if I could only wash my hair once a week. That's my dream lol. The Living Proof is probably amazing because it is $$$$$ lol.
DeleteI haven't had much luck with dry shampoo but that's because my hair is black... even ones made for "dark" hair make it look gray. Yikes. Just, yikes.
ReplyDeleteI saw a commercial for The Affair and wondered how it is. Looks good!
I've heard that is true about dark hair! The one I have no kind of looks a little too white sometimes, but I guess I don't care too much haha. The show is good! I watched the first season so fast because you like HAVE to know what happens! I give it 5 stars!
DeleteI have the oiliest hair in America - I bought a dry shampoo spray called "Psssst" - yes, that is literally the name - but truthfully? The day after I've shampooed I find the best thing to do is put some regular ol' baby powder in my hands and massage my scalp with it. You have to be careful not to go overboard (well, if you're brunette like me) cause you can see it, but it absorbs the oil SO much better than the sprays I've bought.
ReplyDeleteI'm another huge fan of Batiste!! I've tried a bunch of them and found that one to be the best. I'm seriously only down to washing my hair twice a week thanks to the stuff! But also still shower once a day of course ;) Can't wait to see your Christmas cards!!
ReplyDeleteGreetings! Very useful advice in this particular post! It is the little changes which will make the greatest changes. Thanks a lot for sharing!
